The opening of a new welfare office in Kathmandu city for the Tibetans living in the city and Swayambhu areas of Kathmandu. The office was opened as per the plan of Tibetan government in exile and moreover as the one office which was earlier established for Tibetans living in the Boudha area showed beneficial to the welfare of Tibetans living in those area so a new office for the Tibetans living in city and Swayambhu was opened. The ceremony was attended by Manager of the Kathmandu based Tibetan Transit centre, members of the exile Tibetan parliament and local Tibetan NGO's.
