U.S. Considers Refugee Relocation Program for Tibetans

The United States says it is considering letting an undetermined number of Tibetans into the country through a refugee resettlement program.

VOA's Tibetan Service confirmed with the State Department Wednesday that
the operation would be a government-sponsored refugee relocation effort. The number of refugees has not yet been decided.

The program would help resettle Tibetans who have been living in Nepal. The Central Tibetan Association reports all applicants would have to be approved by the Department of Homeland Security before being granted entry to the United States.
