A group of Tibetan middle school students gathered on November 1 calling for equality of education, in Dzoede County, Ngaba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

According to the sources, the protest was apparently sparked by an official meeting on nationality and bilingual education policy in the area, where authorities reprimanded local officials for their failure to implement government education policy, which emphasize importance of Chinese as the main language of instruction, and suggesting Tibetan language has no career opportunities. The students protested, fearing the government education policy to be discriminatory and shouted slogans, “equal education” and “equal opportunity”.

Meanwhile, a large number of Tibetans in Labrang Sangchu of Kansu province have staged a protest against unfair government policies around 10 am local time on November 3, 2014. Residents have raised their concerns and frustration with the government's inconsistent implementation of official policy in regards to payment of land. Locals say that the government's payment of the land purchased from them to build a company in the area differed constantly.
