Tibet Fund Meets Tibetan Chamber of Commerce

The members of Tibetan Chamber of Commerce [TCC] organized a program involving special interaction with the visiting new director of Tibet Fund New York at the Tibet House office located in New Delhi, India on September 3, 2013. TCC, originally formed in the year 2005, has presently over 182 members in India and Nepal.

Lobsang Nyendak, the director of Tibet Fund, and Peter Korynski addressed the members of TCC and advised them to explore new opportunities to expand their businesses. "One is education. Jews are the most educated people. The other aspect is mutual cooperation, mutual support," says Korynski explaining education and mutual cooperation as the two main aspects that made Jews the most successful migrant community in the world. Lobsang Nyendak further added that the Tibetan businessmen should go out and venture beyond the circle of Tibetan community.

"There are more than 600 retail shops owned by Tibetans in Shilong alone. But the better junk of profit is always taken by the middleman Lalaji [Indian]. So over here, the concept of corporate business is lacking." adds Kalsang Norbu, president of the Tibetan Chamber of Commerce.
