Tibetans residing in Dharamsala, India hoisted Indian National Flag infront of the Kashag (Tibetan Cabinet) office on August 15, 2013 to commemorate India's independence from British rule on August 15, 1947.
The senior staffs of the Central Tibetan Administration along with the Kalons gathered infront of the Kashag office despite the heavy rain to hoist the Indian National Flag.
Lobsang Sangay, head of the Tibetan administration in exile, congratulated India on its independence day and thanked India for hosting Tibetans in India for over five decades.
Tibetan NGOs in Dharamsala held an informal gathering at Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala to wish the local and tourist Indians a happy independence day by distributing ladoos, an Indian celebratory sweet in celebration of the joyous day.
