Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) hunger strikers were discharged today after police forcibly terminated their hunger strike and admitted them to a hospital last Thursday. The three hunger strikers were given a warm reception on their arrival at the Tibetan Camp in Majnu ka Tilla, Delhi.

At the reception, the Vice President of TYC Dhondup Lhadar, one of the three hunger strikers, expressed dissapointment at Indian government's termination of the non-violent protest on its 20th day.

"We are deeply sad that Tibetans as refugees are not allowed to engage in any political activities by the Indian government," said Mr. Lhadar, further urging the Indian government to review their stand on Tibetan freedom struggle and to uphold India's principles of freedom and democracy.

Dhondup said the two highest form of non-violent movement were started by Mahatma Gandhi will be followed by the Tibetan Youth Congress in it's future campaigns. Mr. Lhadar urged everyone to maintain a strong unity among Tibetan people.

The indefinite hunger strike launched by TYC was inaugurated by the Vice President of BJP, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari on September 3, 2012 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
