At a panel discussion jointly organized by Gandhi Peace Foundation and the Tibetan Parliamentary and Policy Research Centre, Major General (retired) Vinod Saighal said that India should lead protest to pressure China to resolve the problem of Tibetan self-immolations.

"I suggest that India should lead. We should start by the first of March 2014 and organize in 30 Indian cities with protest march and condemn it," says Gen Vinod Saighal.

The subject of discussion was, "What could be the outcome should China NOT change course in the face of mounting self-immolations in Tibet?"

Former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal; Representative of the Dalai Lama in Delhi, Tempa Tsering; and Times of India Group's Editor of 'Jagran' news paper, S R Mohanty were among other speakers.

Former Secretary General of Indian Parliament Dr. Subhash Kashyap and Chairperson of Gandhi Peace Foundation Ms. Radha Bhatt jointly chaired the panel discussion. The discussion was held at the Gandhi Peace Foundation, Delhi, India.
