The Foundation for Universal Responsibility of the Dalai Lama in collaboration with Empowering the Vision, and India International Center organized a program to provide platform for young Tibetans in exile to discuss their ideas and suggestions to stimulate and improve the networks of the vibrant Tibetan diaspora in India.

Ms. Ogyen Palmo, a chartered accountant working in Deloitte, one of the top four global accounting firms, shared her experiences of being the first Tibetan women to complete CA in India with the audience at the India International Centre in New Delhi on October 27, 2013. Presently there are around 200,000 practicing CAs in India, including 6 Tibetans, out of which four are women.

"If you think its difficult you will not be able to overcome it. Take it as challenge and you will achieve success," says Palmo. She further added that she studied 16 to 17 hours a day for 3 years for the CA course. Her plan is to set up a private accounting firm to assist the Tibetan community in exile.

The program titled 'Diaspora: A Tibetan Perspective" was a result of suggestions offered by India International Centre for the Indians who want to know more about Tibetans born in India, their education, experiences, and perspectives. The well received program started in April this year and will end in December, 2013.
