Dalai Lama Begins Teaching at Sera Monastery

Nearly thirty thousand people from around the world have gathered on December 25, 2013 at Sera Monastery, South India for a ten day teaching by the Dalai Lama on Lamrim.

The Dalai Lama greeted the followers and said ‘we are not here for entertainment or business but to improve ourselves’ so all the followers at the teaching were asked to concentrate on kindness, the source of happiness.

Dalai Lama also asked the Tibetans to maintain their good habits and preserve Tibetan language to learn Buddhist texts.

According to the organizing committee of this teaching, about 30,000 followers from over 60 countries have registered for the teaching including people from Tibet and China.

The Dalai Lama made a special prayer for his teacher Ling Rinpoche, whose 30 death anniversary falls today, December 25, 2013.
