Dalai Lama Begins Teaching at Bodh Gaya བོད་སྐད།


Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Tuesday started a five-day teachings, more than 40,000 Buddhist devotees from across the world gathered at Bodh Gaya, India.

As around more than 12,000 monks and nuns have gathered for the teaching, His Holiness stressed the importance of practice along with learning. His Holiness stressed on the proper practice of Vinaya (charter of monk discipline) and said that these days, we find monk with wife and children even among the Tibetans, apart from Mongolians. "This practice is not in comfirmity with the Vinaya rules. Such practice should not be followed."

Dalai Lama arrived in Bodh Gaya Monday to give religious discourses and take part in the seven-day Gelug Monlam at the Mahabodhi Mahavihara.
