Dalai Lama Meets with Mongolian Devotees བོད་སྐད།


On the 5th day of the Dalai Lama’s Buddhist Teaching at Sarnath, Varanasi, 260 Mongolians from Russian Federation and outer Mongolia have received special audience from the Dalai Lama.

Headed by Rev. Tilo Rinpoche from Kalmyk, around 100 Mongolian monks and nuns had audience with the Tibetan leader. "The relationship between Tibetans and Mongolians are special and it can be traced back to before the coming of Buddhism to Tibet, " says the Dalai Lama while addressing the Mongolians.

During the Teaching , while speaking on the 9th Chapter of Chodjug on Wisdom, he urged the Tibetan scholars to compose writings based on logic. "Most of the writings in Tibet are based the words of Buddha, but Indian writings are based on logic. Tibetans should write according to the changed situation," the Dalai Lama added. The organizers say there are 1,6000 devotees from 32 countries have come for the Teaching. There are also 526 Tulkus and Geshes apart from 20 High Lamas from the 4 main traditions of Tibetan Buddhism for the Teaching including Shartse Choeje.
