Earthquake Rebuilding to Cost China Nearly $150-Billion བོད་སྐད།

The Chinese government says it will cost nearly 150-billion dollars to rebuild areas devastated by a massive earthquake in May.

A new government reconstruction plan says thousands of schools are among the structures that need to be rebuilt.

The May 12th earthquake in Sichuan province killed nearly 70-thousand people and left millions more homeless.

China's relief authorities have vowed to provide every family with a house and give every household an income in the next three years.

China has set aside about a 10-billion-dollar budget for reconstruction -- which is about one-quarter of the money spent preparing for the Beijing Olympics.
