Tibetan Women Activists Storm Chinese Embassy in Delhi

36 Tibetan women TYC activists stormed Chinese Embassy in Delhi as hundreds of Tibetan women were observing the 49th Anniversary of Tibetan Women Uprising Day in 1959 in Lhasa, Tibet's capital. Subsequently the Indian police arrested the 36 women activists. "The TYC women members have organized this protest at the Chinese Embassy to pay tributes to those brave Tibetans who risked their lives for the sake of independence of Tibet." says Tenzin Norsang, Joint Secretary CENTREX while briefing the media people before the start of protest demonstration. Among the arrested activists, there were 17 nuns who came from six regional Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) branches including Dharamsala, Manali, Rajpur, Paonta, Herbertpur. Tibetan women activists demanded that no Olympics should be held in Beijing until Tibet is free and also demanded immediate release of Tibetans who were arrested in Lhasa on March 10th.
