Vietnamese Police Bust Wildlife Trafficking Gang བོད་སྐད།

Vietnamese police came face-to-face with two live tigers this week while busting up a wildlife trafficking gang.

Media reports in Vietnam say police discovered the two live tigers in the back of a car during a raid outside Hanoi.

Luckily for police, the two cats were heavily sedated at the time. Both weighed 50-kilograms a piece.

Shortly afterwards, police searched the traffickers' homes on the outskirts of Hanoi and found four more tigers dead and cut up in a freezer.

In Vietnam, animal parts are widely used for traditional medicine and are smuggled in from neighboring countries.

It is believed that only about 100 tigers are still left in the wild in the southeast Asian country.
