The Governor of Udine Province in Italy received the Dalai Lama with red carpet at his office and also celebrated the 18th anniversary of the Dalai Lama's receiving Nobel Peace Prize. At a press conference, the Dalai Lama congratulated former Vice President Al Gore for receiving this year's Nobel Peace Prize. The Tibetan leader also said that the media should pay more attention to the non-violence movements instead of violence.
