Dharamsala based Guchusum, the organisation of ex-political prisoners from Tibet, delivered a strongly worded statement rejecting the new Chinese intiative in Tibet aimed at giving the Communist party complete control over who and how Tibetans choose their spiritual teachers. A spokesperson from Guchusum said that the law contradicts all claims made by China on religious freedom and any civilized norm the world over. He said that Tibetans can never accept such a law in their hearts and that it will further split Tibetans from communist controlled China.
