NWTCA launches “Tibet, Our Country” program

Interview with Ngawang Kalsang, Education Director, North West Tibetan Cultural Association (NWTCA), Portland, OR. Kalsang said that their Association launched the new program, “Tibet, Our Country”, which takes place once a month, to provide a platform to learn about Tibet, through discussion, debate, lectures, movies, poems and songs, and other related activities. Kalsang said that the first day of the new program was participated by over thirty children, age 5-18, where at least twenty-seven of the participants expressed profound interest and enthusiasm. NWTCA runs a very robust Tibetan language and culture program on Sundays, and the new program is held once a month on Fridays.
