Student-Led Tibet Initiative at India’s Premier University

With the core aim of making Tibet issue relevant among the university students and to educate and inform issues related to Tibet and Tibetan culture to the larger campus community, Tibetan students at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University established Tibet Forum, JNU in 2004. Since its establishment, it has organized a number of academic discussions and seminars in the campus and many cultural events in the campus. On this week’s Table Talk, Lobsang Yangtso, Ph.D student at JNU, Tashi Yangzom, and M.Phil student and Norbu Lhagyal, Chinese Language student discusses the importance of this student led initiative and how it was able to make Tibet issue relevant in the university’s academic discussion and culture.
