The Dalai Lama has arrived in Dallas, Texas from England upon the invitation of the former United States President George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush, where he will participate in a talk moderated by Cookie Roberts at the SMU’s Moody Coliseum on July 1, 2015.

In an exclusive interview, Kaydor Aukatsang, the representative of the Dalai Lama tells VOA that the event, which is open to the public, is jointly hosted by the George W. Bush Presidential Center and SMU in conjunction with the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth.

The Dalai Lama’s visit to Dallas just few days before his 80th birthday on July 6, a birthdate that he shares with former President George W. Bush will be marked by a luncheon thrown by the former President to hundreds of guests in Dallas.
