In last week's episode ofTibet in Review, we spoke about the Chinese officials strategy in establishing a branch of Tibetan Buddhist Theology Institute in other Tibetan monasteries, including Sera and Samye Monasteries. After we aired the story that day, the Chinese authorities in TAR held a graduation ceremony for 150 monks and 22 lamas from the institute. Now, after studying for two years in the Chinese government built new monastic institute, some experts believe that these selected monks from 127 different monasteries are most likely to be sent to their original monasteries with task to carry out, what some call China’s new education system in the Tibetan monasteries.
